1. The service

FormatKit provides free, browser-based utilities for developers, including formatters, converters, encoders, escapers, generators and text utilities (the "Service"). The Service is provided as-is and may change or be discontinued at any time without notice.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. In particular you must not:

• attempt to disrupt, overload or interfere with the operation of the website;
• use automated systems to access the site in a way that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce in the same period, except where explicitly permitted (e.g. search engine crawlers complying with robots.txt);
• use the tools to process content you have no right to process, or to violate the rights of others;
• scrape, resell or rebrand the site as your own service without permission.

3. Intellectual property

The design, text, code and branding of this website are the property of FormatKit and are protected by copyright and other laws. The content you process with the tools (your JSON, XML, code, text and so on) remains yours — we claim no rights over it, and because processing happens in your browser we do not even receive a copy.

4. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the tools will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for your specific use case. Always review tool output before using it in production systems.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FormatKit and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

6. Advertising and third-party links

The site displays advertisements (such as Google AdSense) and may contain affiliate or sponsor links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, products or practices of third parties. Where a link is affiliate or sponsored, it is marked as such. Any dealings you have with advertisers or third parties are solely between you and them.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FormatKit and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
