About this tool

APIs and databases love Unix timestamps; humans do not. Paste a timestamp and get it interpreted as local time, UTC (ISO 8601), plus a friendly relative form like “3 days ago”. The reverse direction converts any date and time you pick into both seconds and milliseconds.

How to use it

  1. Paste a timestamp (seconds or milliseconds are detected automatically) or a date string such as 2026-09-05T12:00:00Z, then click Timestamp → Date.
  2. Or pick a date in the second panel and click Date → Timestamp.
  3. Use current time / Now fill in the present moment.

Good to know

  • The auto-detector treats values below 1011 as seconds and larger values as milliseconds.
  • ISO 8601 output is always UTC and ends in Z — the unambiguous form for logs and APIs.
  • All conversion happens locally; your browser’s time zone settings decide the “local time” row.
