Our mission

FormatKit is a collection of 20 free online tools for developers: formatters, converters, encoders, generators and small utilities. We built it around a simple idea — everyday development tasks like formatting a JSON response, converting a CSV file or generating a UUID should take seconds, not require installing software or creating an account.

Privacy first, always

Every tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser. The text you paste into a formatter, the file contents you convert and the passwords we generate never leave your device — there is no backend that receives your input, and nothing is logged or stored by us. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded and the tools will keep working.

How the site is funded

FormatKit is free to use. To keep it that way, the site displays advertising (for example Google AdSense) and may participate in affiliate programmes. Advertising cookies and analytics are only used when you accept them in the consent banner; you can change your choice at any time by clearing site data.
